We showed up planning to shoot in a field of sunflowers but when we got to the farm we were told they were dead and had to be cut :(  Thankfully there were a few left here and there and the owner of the farm was kind enough to still let us shoot. The breeze was going and the sun was tucked behind the clouds most of the morning (which I prayed for all week) It was so nice and it allowed me to get some beautiful shots. I had a vision to use ice cream with this shoot so combine that with Gabby's love of fashion and modeling, and BAM a wonderful session was underway!! Yes I said ice cream!! When we arrived the ice cream shop was PACKED with a line out the door so we decided to walk around and get some shots before hand. One of the best things about downtown is the textures!! We found ivy walls, brick walls, metal walls ,rocky walls and so many other great spots that I could seriously shoot at all day long. We eventually made our way back to get the ice cream (Mint Chocolate Chip) and I was able to get some really cute shots before it  got to cold, the sun may have been shining but it was chilly out for sure!! She rocked it though in heels and dress!!!

It was my first time shooting here and I haven't been since maybe 5th grade  so I was very excited at the opportunity to  do a family session at the mansion!! After we got finished there we headed to the riverfront and got a few shots before the sun set. With the beautiful light like we had and a beautiful family like the Gallaghers in front of my camera I knew this was going to be an awesome session.  I enjoy getting to see this family so much.... like seriously they are AMAZING.... He was a smiling boy every time I pointed the camera his way! A beautiful sunset was the perfect way to end our day!

We had just got started shooting near the botanical garden of Greenfield Lake when we hear a yell and here comes a lady running full speed with the Po-Po hot on her trail. She was thankfully caught and arrested after about 15 minutes of wrestling with the officers. We managed to work around this and got some awesome shots. The evening sun was beautiful and got even better once we got into Downtown Wilmington. It was perfect and lit everything with this awesome warm light. I probably would have kept going all night but the street lights started to come on!! :)

I have known Emily for over 10 years, we met in 9th grade, and her , her sister, and their family have been some of my dearest friends ever since. When she agreed to let me photograph her and her family I was so excited! We decided on Wrightsville Beach for the location and I couldnt have been happier. The lighting was perfect Emmy was glowing and not to mention Joshy was there. He is the most adorable little red head ever! He is so sweet and the bond that him and his mother have is just amazing. Emily would just look at Josh and tell him "you make me so happy" and he would hug her. Those moments melted my heart and made me realize even more why I love what I do. He is going to be an amazing big brother to his new sister! I am so hoping she is blessed with that awesome red hair... but she is aleady blessed with a more than perfect family so who could want more?

We started this shoot at 8:30 in the morning..... although it was early we had a great time and found some neat spots!! We were lucky enough to use the beautiful River Landing in Wallace NC as a back drop!! This is also where the wedding will be held and I am so in love with the scenery that it has to offer. We went to a local pond and a really neat old barn...... the lighting was perfect and the weather was warm!!

Couldn't have asked for a better day to shoot! The Oliphant Family will be welcoming their 2nd baby boy in August!

It was such a pleasure to shoot this lovely couple! I have known them for a few years and knew when I was asked  to shoot this wedding that it would be filled with lots of love, laughter, and of course purple, Jennifers' favorite color!! This wedding had everything that makes me love where I live and what I do. The ceremony and reception took place at The Wilmington Tea Room which is located right on the river in Downtown Wilmington. It was full of love and laughter! Though they have been together for a long time the chemistry between these two still shines bright. I loved getting to capture their special memories on a day that will be remembered forever.
